Background information about 'Pungent Stench'

Some records don't just get reissued — they crawl back out of the grave, still reeking of 1989. This is the Pungent Stench half of the legendary split with Disharmonic Orchestra, and it remains one of the most gloriously nasty slabs of Death Metal ever committed to tape. Recorded in a single session in 1989, these tracks are raw, filthy and completely unbothered by anything resembling polish. "Pulsating Protoplasma" and "Dead Body Love" still land like a boot to the teeth, while "Miscarriage" and "Rip You Without Care" show exactly why Pungent Stench became a byword for underground extremity.

What makes this edition genuinely special is the completeness of it. Alongside the original split material you get the songs from "The Pleasures in Life" compilation, cut in the same studio session, plus a previously unreleased live recording from Rockhaus in 1989 that captures the band at their most primitive and unhinged. Hearing "Bonesawer" and "Extreme Deformity" tear through a tiny club stage is a reminder that this stuff was never meant to be polite. Hammerheart Records has done the dirty work of dragging it all back into the light, and the lime green vinyl comes with a poster of that infamous front cover artwork.
