Another Perfect Day

Another Perfect Day formed in 1993 in Seeheim, Hesse, Germany, emerging as one of the early German bands to blend Progressive Melodic Death Metal with technical sophistication. Named after the eponymous Motörhead album, the formation around Kristian "Kohle" developed a distinctive sound concept that merged melodic passages with progressive structures and death metal elements.
The classic lineup featuring Kohle (guitars, vocals), Schmidt (guitars), Müller and later Matze (bass), and Heyse (drums) quickly established themselves within the German underground scene. As early as 1995, the track "68 Is Crucified" appeared on the Morrigan Compilation via Nacht & Nebel, an important sampler of the German extreme metal scene. The 1996 "Promo 96" featuring four tracks underscored the band's technical competence and their ability to combine complex arrangements with catchy melodic lines.
After six years of intensive work, the classic lineup disbanded in 1999. The band had established itself as a technically proficient formation that skillfully integrated progressive elements into melodic death metal without losing aggression. Supreme Chaos Records was documented as the last label of the original era.
In 2005, Kristian "Kohle" reformed Another Perfect Day as a solo project with rotating guest musicians. This new phase allowed for more experimental approaches and greater creative freedom. Kohle, who had previously been active with Century and Kokoon, brought his extensive experience to the reformed project. The current status of the band remains uncertain, which is typical for many German progressive metal projects of this era.
