Background information about 'Forgotten Fun'
There is something wonderfully wrong about a record that opens with a track called "Flatliners" and then refuses to let you catch your breath. Sedativa deal in that particular brand of restless, grimy noise that sits somewhere between industrial clang and rock'n'roll swagger, and "Forgotten Fun" is the sound of a band who clearly never met a clean signal they liked. Guitars scrape and howl, the low end rumbles like a freight train in a tunnel, and the vocals are pushed just far enough into the red to feel genuinely unhinged. It is ugly in the best possible way, and it is enormous fun.
What keeps this from being just another slab of noise is the songwriting. "Waiting For The Sky" and "Chemistry" sneak in hooks that will lodge themselves in your skull for days, while "Plastique" and "Cut" strip things back to a cold, mechanical pulse that owes as much to late-night club culture as it does to the scuzzier end of rock. By the time "Soaking Wet" and "Sirens" roll around, the whole thing feels like a descent you volunteered for, and "Curious Games" closes the door behind you with a grin. This is a record built for dark rooms, cheap speakers and people who like their music with a bit of dirt under its fingernails.
