Background information about 'Titan'
Released in 2014, Septicflesh's "Titan" stands as a monumental achievement in the realm of symphonic death metal. This album is an epic confluence of orchestral grandeur and heavy metal ferocity, demonstrating the Greek band's unparalleled ability to blend these two distinct elements into one cohesive sonic experience. Recorded in both Athens and Prague, "Titan" showcases a sophisticated blend of classical orchestration with the raw power of extreme metal. It features the FILMharmonic Orchestra and the Prague Children Choir, adding layers of depth and complexity to the album's soundscape.
The album opens with "War In Heaven," a track that sets the tone with its bombastic orchestral intro leading into thunderous riffs and guttural vocals. Each subsequent track maintains this intensity, weaving intricate musical narratives that explore themes of mythology, power, and existential dread. Tracks like "Order of Dracul" and "Prometheus" exemplify Septicflesh's talent for creating haunting atmospheres augmented by symphonic elements.
