Background information about 'Apocalypso'
The mighty SORTILÈGE are revered as pioneers of French heavy metal. Their illustrious journey began in the early 1980s and remains influential for a legion of French bands that followed. 'Apocalypso', their first album of new material in over three decades, marks a majestic return to the scene. Led by the iconic vocalist Christian "Zouille" Augustin, the band demonstrates their undying commitment to heavy metal with an opus that is both timeless and classic.
This powerful record echoes the grandiosity of legends like IRON MAIDEN and JUDAS PRIEST, while retaining its own unique identity rooted in Gallic tradition. The collaboration with esteemed artists like Myrath and Stéphane Buriez adds layers of depth to tracks such as "Derrière les portes de Babylone" and "La parade des centaures", making 'Apocalypso' a must-listen for any aficionado of classic heavy metal.
