Some bands talk a big game, but Street Justice actually deliver. When Savage called it a day after their killer "Glory Riders" debut, guitarists Pawel Nemkovic and Axel Warrior could have easily packed it in. Instead, they doubled down, grabbed the Street Justice banner, and came back swinging harder than ever with "Rules Are For Suckers" — a debut that sounds like a love letter to every sun-scorched, hair-sprayed, leather-clad riff that ever crawled out of Hollywood in the mid-80s.

And man, does it hit. The songwriting has taken a serious leap forward from the Savage days, with riffs that twist and turn, solos that actually say something, and hooks that bury themselves in your skull for days. This is the sound of L.A. gutter metal done right — think W.A.S.P., Twisted Sister, Quiet Riot, and the early Van Halen records, all filtered through a nastier, sleazier lens. If Savage leaned classic, Street Justice lean dirty, like a harder L.A. Guns in their late-80s prime. The whole thing drips with attitude, but there's real craft underneath the swagger.

The band even pull off a cover most would be too scared to touch: Tina Turner's "One of the Living" from Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome, reworked into something appropriately heavy and even more sleazy. It's a bold move, and it lands perfectly, tying into the wasteland vibe that runs through the whole record. Production duties were handled by Sergej Dukart of Tyran, and the result is a new level of clarity and depth — the kind of "spatial heaviness" that makes these songs feel absolutely enormous. This isn't just a debut, it's a statement.
