Background information about 'House Of Cards'
The Amity Affliction returns with their emotionally charged masterpiece "House of Cards", an album that showcases the Australian metalcore veterans at their most vulnerable and powerful. Opening with the haunting "Vida Nueva", the band immediately sets a tone of introspection and renewal, before launching into the crushing intensity of "Kickboxer". The title track "House of Cards" serves as the album's emotional centerpiece, blending Joel Birch's raw screams with Ahren Stringer's melodic vocals in a way that perfectly encapsulates the band's signature sound.
Throughout the twelve tracks, The Amity Affliction explores themes of mental health, personal struggle, and redemption with unflinching honesty. Songs like "Heaven Sent" and "Bleed" demonstrate the band's ability to balance crushing heaviness with moments of genuine beauty, while tracks such as "Swan Dive" and "Speaking In Tongues" showcase their evolution as songwriters. The album closes with the epic "Eternal War", leaving listeners with a sense of catharsis and hope. This is metalcore at its most authentic and emotionally resonant.
