Background information about 'Existence Is Horror'
The Lion's Daughter unleashes a devastating sonic assault with "Existence Is Horror", a crushing testament to the darker corners of extreme metal. This St. Louis quartet has crafted something truly menacing here – a relentless barrage of blackened death metal that feels like being trapped in a nightmare you can't wake up from. The album title couldn't be more fitting, as each track explores the bleakest aspects of human existence with unflinching brutality.
From the opening nightmare of "Phobetor" to the apocalyptic finale "The Horror Of Existence", this record never lets up. The band's ability to blend crushing death metal riffs with atmospheric black metal passages creates an oppressive wall of sound that's both technically impressive and emotionally devastating. Tracks like "Dog Shaped Man" and "Four Flies" showcase their knack for memorable hooks buried within the chaos, while "Midnight Glass" demonstrates their mastery of dynamic shifts that keep listeners on edge throughout the entire experience.
