Background information about 'Bless Off'

Venice Beach, California — a place most people associate with sun, surf, and street performers, not with a feral pack of longhairs who sound like they've been mainlining Detroit garage punk and 70s hard rock for the better part of a decade. But that's exactly where The Shrine crawled out from, and Bless Off is their unapologetic, middle-finger-waving manifesto to anyone who thought skate-rock had gone soft.

This thing kicks off with "Destroyers," a track that wastes exactly zero seconds before slamming into a riff that could've been ripped straight from a dusty MC5 rehearsal tape. There's no build-up, no atmospheric intro — just a wall of fuzzed-out guitars, pounding drums, and Josh Landau's snarling vocals cutting through the mix like a switchblade. What follows is eleven tracks of pure, uncut rock 'n' roll venom. "Tripping Corpse" lurches with a sleazy, almost doom-tinged swagger, while "The Duke" channels the kind of twin-guitar boogie that Thin Lizzy perfected back in the day. The title track, "Bless Off," is the album's snarling centerpiece — a two-and-a-half-minute blast of punk fury that makes you want to kick over a stack of amps. "Nothing Forever" slows things down just enough to let the wah-drenched solo work breathe before "On The Grind" picks the tempo right back up and drives it straight into the gutter. The production is deliberately raw, capturing that live-to-tape energy that so many bands chase but few actually nail. By the time closer "Hellride" fades out in a haze of feedback and crashing cymbals, you feel like you've just survived a basement show where the ceiling was too low and the PA was too loud — and you wouldn't have it any other way.
