Thundermother have always been a band built for the stage, and "Live'n'Alive" finally bottles that sweat, that roar, that feeling of a crowd losing its collective mind. Recorded across a string of European shows, this live record is a snapshot of a band at full throttle, and it is gloriously unpolished in all the right ways.
You can practically smell the beer on the floor during "Loud and Free" and "Take The Power", where the guitars bite hard and the rhythm section refuses to let up. The band tears through "Dog From Hell" and "Thunderous" like they have something to prove, while "Sleep" and "Bright Eyes" show a grittier, bluesier side that hits even harder in a live setting. The recordings come from Cologne, Huskvarna, Copenhagen and Gothenburg, which gives the whole thing a nice tour-diary feel, as if you are hopping between venues with the band. There is crowd noise, there is banter, and there is the sense that these four women are having the time of their lives.
