Background information about 'Eric the Red'
Eric The Red delivers a thunderous slab of medieval metal with "Tyr", a record that feels less like an album and more like a war horn echoing across a frostbitten fjord. The band channels the raw, untamed energy of Norse mythology and medieval lore into a soundscape that is equal parts crushing and melodic. From the first galloping riff to the final battle cry, this record grabs you by the collar and refuses to let go. The guitars are razor-sharp, the drums thunder like hooves on frozen ground, and the vocals soar with a heroic intensity that makes you want to raise a horn in salute.
What makes "Tyr" truly special is how effortlessly it balances aggression with atmosphere. There are moments of breathtaking melodic beauty woven between the heavy, riff-driven passages, creating a dynamic journey that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. The medieval influences are woven deep into the fabric of the music, with folk-infused passages and choral elements that transport you straight to the great halls of ancient Scandinavia. This is metal that wears its heritage proudly, and it sounds absolutely magnificent doing it.
