Background information about 'Soldiers Of The Night (Re-Issue)'
Vicious Rumors unleashed "Soldiers Of The Night" in 1985, marking a pivotal moment in the San Francisco Bay Area metal scene. This crushing debut album showcased the band's raw power and technical prowess, establishing them as serious contenders in the heavy metal underground. Tracks like "Ride (Into the Sun)" and the thunderous title track "Soldiers of the Night" demonstrate the band's ability to craft memorable anthems while maintaining their aggressive edge. The album's production captures that authentic 80s metal sound - thick, punchy, and unapologetically heavy.
What makes this record truly special is how Vicious Rumors managed to balance melody with brutality. Songs like "Medusa" and "Murder" showcase vocalist Carl Albert's impressive range, while the rhythm section delivers crushing performances throughout. The guitar work is particularly noteworthy, featuring intricate solos and powerful riffs that would influence countless bands in the years to come. This re-issue gives new generations of metalheads the chance to experience this underground classic in all its vinyl glory.
