Background information about 'Casus Luciferi'
Watain's "Casus Luciferi" stands as a formidable pillar of Black Metal's second wave. Released originally in 2003 and revered for its raw and unyielding ferocity, this album has been a staple for enthusiasts of the genre. The remastered edition brings forth an even more intense listening experience with tracks like "Devil's Blood" setting the stage with its blistering riffs and chaotic drumming. This reissue maintains the original's sinister aura while providing enhanced clarity that reveals the intricate layers of instrumentation.
Steeped in esoteric themes and occult imagery, "Casus Luciferi" invites listeners into a realm where darkness prevails. The band’s unwavering dedication to their craft is evident throughout each track. From the relentless assault of "Opus Dei (The Morbid Angel)" to the haunting melodies of "I Am The Earth," Watain manages to invoke a sense of impending doom coupled with an almost ritualistic grandeur. This reissued edition on silver vinyl offers both longtime fans and new listeners an opportunity to engage with one of Black Metal's quintessential works in an updated format.
