About the album

Gràb's second album, "Kremess," continues to explore the depths of Bavarian Black Metal, blending traditional storytelling with musical innovation. The album's title translates to "Funeral Feast," reflecting its thematic focus on death and tradition. Musically, Gràb incorporates traditional instruments like the hammered dulcimer alongside influences from early Nordic Black Metal bands such as Gehenna, Ulver, and Darkthrone. The inclusion of German pioneers like Nagelfar and Lunar Aurora adds a unique dimension to their sound. The lineup now includes English guitarist Gnàst, bringing fresh ideas and sounds to the Bavarian Black Metal landscape. Additionally, guest musicians from bands like Empyrium, Triptykon, and Dark Fortress further enrich the album's musical spectrum.

Formed by former Dark Fortress frontman Grànt, Gràb aims to infuse Black Metal with a distinctly Bavarian flavor. Their debut album "Zeitlang" released in 2021 was well-received for its revival of early Black Metal spirit. With "Kremess," Gràb pushes their musical boundaries further into the future while retaining their roots in Bavarian culture and folklore.
