Even the title of A SECRET REVEALED's fourth album reads like a dark omen: "The Ruin I Summoned Forth" sounds powerful, oppressive and inescapable. And exactly that weight seeps through all eight tracks. The Würzburg quintet conjures a sonic landscape defined by immense emotional force, driving intensity and a density that feels almost impossible to contain. Their wall of sound is never an end in itself, but the foundation of an existential expression that hits immediately and lingers long after the final note.

Stylistically the band operates in the post-metal sphere, a sound that refuses to deny its core roots while pushing their affinity for black metal, melodic death metal and modern, propulsive heaviness further to the fore than ever before. Again and again, fragile, searching passages open up to give the massive sound room to breathe, occasionally woven through with subtle, almost folkloric accents. Fittingly, the opener "Disheartened" sets an early exclamation mark: with Nikita Kamprad of Der Weg einer Freiheit as guest vocalist, the track gains additional depth and edge. Once more the band delivers a cohesive work in which individual elements rise into an overwhelming whole, until at the end the inevitable unfolds: "The Ruin I Summoned Forth".
