Background information about 'When Fire Rains Down From The Sky...'
Anaal Nathrakh delivers another devastating assault on the senses with "When Fire Rains Down From The Sky, Mankind Will Reap As It Has Sown", a six-track EP that showcases the British extreme metal duo's unrelenting vision of apocalyptic brutality. This release captures the band at their most ferocious, blending their signature industrial-tinged black metal with grindcore intensity that feels like witnessing the end times through a sonic lens. The opening track "Cataclysmic Nihilism" sets the tone with its crushing weight, while "How The Angels Fly In (We Can Never Be Forgiven)" demonstrates their ability to weave melody into absolute chaos.
The EP's second half maintains the relentless pace with "Genesis Of The Antichrist" and "Atavism" delivering punishing rhythms that feel both ancient and futuristic. The title track serves as a fitting climax, embodying the band's philosophical approach to extreme music where destruction and creation exist in perfect balance. Mick Kenney's production work creates a wall of sound that's both claustrophobic and expansive, while Dave Hunt's vocal performance ranges from inhuman shrieks to surprisingly melodic passages that cut through the industrial maelstrom.
