Background information about 'Gava Fran Trulen (The Demo Years)'

Before Fran marder turned Arckanum into a name whispered with reverence, there was a rehearsal room, a three-piece line-up and a tape that almost nobody outside a small circle ever got to hear. Gava Fran Trulen (The Demo Years) drags both of those formative documents back into the light: "Demo -93" and the 1994 demo "Trulen", restored from the original tapes by Patrick W. Engel at Temple of Disharmony. And what a strange, wonderful beast this is. The debut demo is raw and spontaneous, a band still caught between death and black metal, chasing an identity with the reckless fervour that only youth can conjure. Its charm is exactly that untamed quality — nothing polished, nothing calculated, just pure will.

Then comes "Trulen", and suddenly everything clicks. You can hear Shamaatae finding his own language: those odd, versatile vocals, the simple, repetitive riffs that refuse to leave your skull, the nature samples and keyboard lines drifting in like fog, the lyrics written and sung in Old Swedish. Almost every ingredient that made the first three albums so magical is already here, and the leap between the two demos is staggering when you remember one single person composed and recorded all of it. For anyone who ever wondered where the antikosmos began, this is the blueprint.
