PARADISE LOST return with their stunning 17th album Ascension, proving once again why they remain the undisputed kings of metal's darker side. After over three decades and two million albums sold, the Yorkshire quintet continues to reign supreme as the pioneers who literally invented gothic metal. From their genre-defining masterpiece Gothic (1991) to the mainstream-conquering power of Draconian Times (1995), PARADISE LOST have consistently traversed multiple genre boundaries with the nonchalant finesse of grand masters.

Produced by guitarist Gregor Mackintosh at Black Planet Studios in East Yorkshire, Ascension showcases ten tracks that traverse the band's entire sonic spectrum – from crushing heavy metal to soaring melodies – while maintaining their irresistible minor-key melancholy. From the gloriously dark opening riff of "Serpent on The Cross" that transforms into thunderous classic metal, to tracks like "Tyrant's Serenade" highlighting Gregor's characteristic haunting guitar leads, this album demonstrates PARADISE LOST'S mastery at making simplicity sound massive.
