Background information about 'Shitfun'

Autopsy's "Shitfun" stands as one of the most uncompromising and brutal entries in the death metal canon. Originally released in 1995, this album showcases the band's signature blend of crushing doom passages and lightning-fast death metal brutality. The record captures Autopsy at their most experimental yet, incorporating elements that would influence countless extreme metal bands in the decades to follow. From the opening assault of "Deathmask" to the closing nightmare of "Excremental Ecstasy", every track delivers a relentless barrage of horror-themed lyrics and bone-crushing riffs.

What makes "Shitfun" particularly compelling is how Chris Reifert and company balance their trademark gore-obsessed themes with surprisingly sophisticated songwriting. Tracks like "Praise The Children" and "Grave Violators" demonstrate the band's ability to craft memorable hooks within their wall of sonic devastation. The album's production perfectly captures the raw, unpolished energy that made Autopsy legends in the underground scene, while songs like "Geek" and "The 24 Public Mutilations" showcase their knack for creating atmosphere through sheer brutality.
