Background information about 'Tattooed Millionaire'
Before he was the Air Raid Siren of Iron Maiden, before the world tours and the stadium anthems, there was this. Bruce Dickinson's debut solo album "Tattooed Millionaire" is a wild, raucous, and gloriously unhinged ride that sounds exactly like a man who just discovered he can do whatever the hell he wants. Recorded in 1990 during a Maiden hiatus, this record is pure rock 'n' roll attitude drenched in sweat, leather, and a healthy dose of cheeky British swagger.
The title track kicks things off with a riff that could peel paint off walls, while “Son of a Gun” and “Born In ’58” showcase Dickinson's songwriting chops beyond the Maiden machine. But the real curveball? His cover of Mott the Hoople's “All the Young Dudes” — a ballsy, heartfelt take that proves Bruce isn't just about galloping metal epics. Janick Gers (yes, future Maiden guitarist) shreds throughout, giving the album a raw, live-in-the-studio energy that's impossible to fake. This 2017 remaster breathes new life into every snare hit and scream.
