CANNIBAL CORPSE · Live Cannibalism | PICTURE DISC 2LP

Double picture disc vinyl in gatefold cover.

Background information about 'Live Cannibalism'

There are live records, and then there is "Live Cannibalism". Captured in February 2000 during the infamous Death Metal Massacre tour, this is Cannibal Corpse at their most feral, most unhinged, and most devastatingly heavy. This isn't a polished, overdubbed live document — it's the Kings of Death Metal doing what they do best, raw and uncensored, with a volume that feels like it could strip the paint off the walls.

What makes this record so essential is that it captures the band right in the middle of their transition into the George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher era. You can hear that monstrous, guttural roar tearing through classic after classic, while the twin-guitar assault of Pat O'Brien and Jack Owen churns out riff after riff with surgical precision. The setlist is an absolute death metal masterclass, one relentless bludgeoning after another. The rhythm section of Alex Webster and Paul Mazurkiewicz is simply inhuman, a wall of blast beats and bass runs that never once lets up.

This picture disc reissue brings back the original, iconic artwork by Vincent Locke, and it's a thing of macabre beauty. Slapping this on the turntable feels like an event — the kind of record that reminds you exactly why Cannibal Corpse have reigned over the death metal underground for decades. There is no filler here, no breathing room, just pure, unadulterated extremity from one of the genre's true titans.
