Background information about 'Carrie Chains'
Carrie Chains have crafted something genuinely special with Castle, a record that feels like being locked inside a stone fortress as the walls slowly close in. The band wears their doom metal influences on their sleeves, but there's a distinctive voice here that refuses to simply copy the genre's heavyweights. Riffs lumber and crush with a weight that feels almost physical, while the vocals soar and snarl with an intensity that keeps every track on edge.
What really sets Castle apart is the dynamics at play. Just when you think you've got the pace figured out, the songs shift gears, dropping into slower, more hypnotic passages that let the atmosphere breathe before the next wave of heaviness hits. The production is warm and organic, giving the whole record a lived-in feel that suits the material perfectly. It's the kind of album that rewards repeat listens, revealing new layers in the guitar work and subtle melodic touches with every spin.
This is doom metal done right, with enough hooks and memorable moments to pull in listeners beyond the usual underground circle. A confident, crushing statement from a band that clearly knows exactly what they want to say.
