Background information about 'Carrie Chains'
Carrie Chains delivers a crushing slab of doom metal with "Castle", an album that feels like stepping into a cold, ancient stone fortress where the walls themselves seem to hum with dark energy. The band has crafted a record that honors the genre's heavy, slow-burning traditions while injecting their own modern edge, creating a listening experience that is both punishing and hypnotic in equal measure.
From the opening riffs, it's clear that "Castle" is built on massive, down-tuned guitars that lumber forward with an almost tectonic weight. The rhythm section anchors everything with a brooding, relentless pulse, while the vocals soar and snarl above the murk with raw conviction. There's a cinematic quality to the songwriting here, each track unfolding like a chapter in some grim medieval tale, complete with haunting melodies that linger long after the final note fades. The production strikes a perfect balance, keeping the sound thick and oppressive while allowing every instrument to breathe and cut through the mix with clarity.
This is doom metal played with heart and authenticity, the kind of record that rewards patient listeners who appreciate music that takes its time to build atmosphere and tension. "Castle" stands tall as a testament to the enduring power of heavy, slow, and soulful metal, and it's bound to find a welcome home in the collections of anyone who treasures the darker corners of the genre.
