Background information about 'Chain Yourself / New World'
This split EP brings together two of heavy metal's most compelling voices in a perfectly crafted 7" format that showcases the raw power and mystical energy both bands are known for. Wytch Hazel delivers "Chain Yourself" with their signature blend of classic heavy metal riffing and folk-tinged melodies, creating an atmosphere that feels both ancient and immediate. The track pulses with that distinctive Lancashire magic that has made them darlings of the underground scene, weaving together thunderous drums and soaring guitar work that recalls the golden age of NWOBHM while maintaining a distinctly modern edge.
Spell answers with "New World" on the flip side, bringing their own brand of mystical heavy metal that perfectly complements Wytch Hazel's offering. The Vancouver-based quartet unleashes a track that's both crushing and ethereal, with layers of guitar harmonies that build into something truly transcendent. This split represents more than just two great songs - it's a meeting of kindred spirits who understand that heavy metal at its best is about more than just volume and aggression.
