Background information about 'Des Herbstes Trauerhymnen MMXX'

There are albums that simply feel like a season, and "Des Herbstes Trauerhymnen MMXX" is autumn in its purest, most melancholic form. Dämmerfarben have always understood how to weave nature into their sound, and here they push that vision to its most immersive point yet. The opener "Herbstsonne" unfolds slowly, a nearly twelve-minute journey where tremolo-picked guitars shimmer like low sunlight through fading leaves, before the crushing weight of "Des Herbstes Trauerlied" pulls you into the heart of the falling season. This is black metal that breathes, that lingers, that refuses to rush.

What sets this record apart is the instrumentation. Beneath the expected icy riffs and sorrowful rasps, you'll find surprising textures that catch you off guard, subtle acoustic passages and melodic turns that give each track its own distinct twilight mood. "Schattenwindes Dämmerfarben" glides with an almost hypnotic grace, while the closing stretch of "Auch das Letzte vergeht," "Herbstpfad," and "Goldener Atem letzter Tage" carries you gently toward the cold that follows. It's melancholic, nature-loving black metal done with genuine craft and an ear for detail, the kind of record that rewards patience and repeated listens as the evenings grow longer.
