Background information about 'Too Old, Too Cold'
"Too Old Too Cold" stands as a compelling EP from Darkthrone, encapsulating the raw and gritty essence of their musical evolution. This 12-inch vinyl release showcases their blend of rock & roll, black metal, and punk influences, offering a gritty yet refined sound that highlights the band's enduring prowess in underground music scenes. The inclusion of guest vocals by Grutle Kjellson and the cover of "Love In A Void" demonstrates a respectful nod to their influences, while maintaining their own distinctive sonic identity.
The production, handled directly by Darkthrone, emphasizes a stripped-down and authentic approach, perfectly reflecting their commitment to the core tenets of their genre fusion. The physical presentation with printed lyrics and artistic front cover illustration further complements the release’s visceral impact, making Too Old Too Cold a significant addition to Darkthrone’s discography for both collectors and fans alike.
