Background information about 'Demonic Possession'
Destructo delivers a crushing blow to the underground with "Demonic Possession", an album that epitomizes the raw, uncompromising spirit of black metal. This release showcases the band's ability to channel pure malevolence through razor-sharp riffs and atmospheric darkness that feels both ancient and refreshingly modern. The production maintains that essential lo-fi grit while allowing each instrument to cut through the mix with surgical precision, creating an experience that's both punishing and hypnotic.
The album's nine tracks weave together a tapestry of blasphemous themes and occult imagery, with each song building upon the last to create a cohesive journey through the depths of darkness. Destructo's approach to black metal incorporates elements of traditional second-wave Norwegian black metal while adding their own twisted perspective, resulting in compositions that feel both familiar and genuinely unsettling. The guitar work alternates between tremolo-picked melodies that soar like fallen angels and crushing chord progressions that drag listeners into the abyss.
