Background information about 'Reflect to Rewind: A Rarities Collection'
Thirty years deep and still running on fumes and fuzz, Dozer have gone back into the vaults and come out with a double album's worth of treasure. "Reflect to Rewind: A Rarities Collection" gathers the stray singles, the b-sides and the oddities that never quite fit on a proper record, and somehow it plays like a greatest hits from a parallel universe. Scandinavia's finest desert rock outfit have always understood that a riff is a promise you keep, and these unearthed cuts keep every single one of them.
What makes this collection land so hard is the care behind it. The band handed the tapes to longtime collaborator Karl Daniel Lidén, who remastered every track one by one, and you can hear the difference — the low end breathes, the guitars bite with fresh teeth, the whole thing crackles like it was cut last week instead of dug out of a dusty box. It is the sound of a band refusing to let their history gather dust, and honestly, after back-to-back North American tours and a 30th anniversary under their belts, the timing could not be better. Turn it up, let the fuzz roll over you, and remember why stoner rock was never a trend — it was a way of life.
