Fejd have always been that rare breed of band who don't just play folk metal — they live it. With Nifelheim, their long-awaited fifth full-length, the Swedish outfit once again prove why they remain untouchable in their chosen domain. From the opening title track, there's an immediate sense of being transported somewhere ancient, somewhere cold, somewhere deeply Nordic. The twin vocal attack of the Rimmerfors brothers carries that unmistakable weight of Scandinavian folk tradition, while the band's signature use of bouzouki, jew's harp, and hurdy-gurdy weaves a tapestry that feels both timeless and urgent.

What makes Nifelheim so compelling is how effortlessly it balances the raw, riff-driven power of classic heavy metal with melodies that sound like they've been pulled straight from the misty forests of Swedish folklore.
