Background information about 'The Bestiary'
Castle Rat unleash their most spellbinding creation yet with "The Bestiary" - a mystical metal odyssey that transports listeners straight into a realm where dragons soar and wizards weave dark enchantments. This isn't just another fantasy metal album; it's a complete immersion into a world crafted with the precision of master storytellers and the crushing power of seasoned metalheads.
Led by the enigmatic "Rat Queen" Riley Pinkerton alongside her mystical companions "The Count," "The Plague Doctor," and "The All-Seeing Druid," Castle Rat have forged thirteen allegorical tales that blur the lines between heavy metal and high fantasy. Recorded by the legendary Randall Dunn (Sunn O))), Wolves In The Throne Room, Björk) and mixed by Jonathan Nuñez (Torche, Restless Spirit), every riff cuts through like a blade while every mystical passage casts its spell with devastating effectiveness. From the phoenix's rebirth to the dragon's final roar, "The Bestiary" delivers both crushing heaviness and ethereal beauty in equal measure.
