Background information about 'Vredesvävd'
Finntroll, the Finnish band that pioneered the unique blend of Black Metal and Folk Metal, returns with their eighth studio album, "Vredesvävd". Released in 2020, this album marks a significant return after a seven-year hiatus since their previous release. The album title translates to "Wrath Woven," which perfectly encapsulates the dark yet vibrant tapestry of sound that Finntroll weaves throughout its tracks. The seamless interweaving of ferocious riffs with spirited folk melodies presents an auditory journey that is both fierce and enchanting.
The opening track "Väktaren" sets the stage with an ambient introduction before launching into the aggressive yet melodic realms that Finntroll is known for. Tracks like "Ormfolk" and "Forsen" showcase their mastery in blending punchy rhythms with traditional Finnish folk influences, creating a soundscape that's both mythical and immersive without ever losing its raw energy. The album closes on a high note with an untitled hidden track, leaving listeners intrigued and eager for more.
