Background information about 'Marter'
Since their inception in 2010, FIRTAN have been an unwavering force in the German Black Metal scene, crafting a sound that bridges both the old and new. Their latest offering, "Marter," is a testament to their evolution as artists. The album delves into themes of modern isolation, exploring the dichotomy between spiritual aspirations and existential despair. Tracks like "Amor Fati" and "Menetekel" highlight the band's unique ability to merge dense atmospheric layers with raw intensity.
Recorded at Klangschmiede Studio E by Markus Stock, "Marter" presents itself not only as a continuation of their previous work but as a bold statement of their artistic identity. The artwork by Władysław Podkowiński further encapsulates the album's mood—reflective yet relentless, pushing boundaries while honoring the genre's forebears.
