What a ride this is! Fluisteraars have outdone themselves with "Jacht der Mysteriën" – their sixth full-length that marks a monumental shift in their creative approach. For the first time, these Dutch atmospheric black metal masters have crafted an entire album as a complete full-band performance, and the results are absolutely stunning. The three towering epics contained within center around the pursuit of the transcendental unknown, exploring mysteries that are elusive yet deeply alluring – shapeless entities that become clearer the more they're questioned, only to slip away again into forests, history, thought, or the vast expanse of space itself.

The band drew inspiration from local legends about a figure who followed mysterious lights into the woods and never returned, weaving these tales with observations of their immediate surroundings. Unlike conventional studio recordings, this beast was captured live in a single take with longtime producer T. Cochrane, creating a unified sonic experience that pulses with urgency and movement. The recording was then reamped through the hollow cylinder of an abandoned water tower, lending the sound a drifting, fog-like character where anything might vanish or emerge without warning – perfectly capturing the essence of true mysteries.
