Background information about 'Green'
Forbidden's fourth studio album "Green" marks a fascinating departure from their traditional Bay Area thrash sound, showcasing the band's willingness to experiment with alternative and groove metal elements. Released in 1997, this album found the San Francisco veterans exploring new sonic territories while maintaining their signature intensity and technical prowess. The record features eleven tracks that blend heavy grooves with the band's established thrash foundation, creating something that was both familiar and refreshingly different for longtime fans.
The album's experimental nature didn't diminish Forbidden's ability to craft memorable songs, with tracks like "What Is The Last Time?", the title track "Green", and "Turns To Rage" demonstrating their evolution as songwriters. The band's venture into alternative metal territory was bold for its time, showing influences that would later become more mainstream in the metal scene. This green vinyl reissue allows fans to experience this underrated gem in all its analog glory, complete with the album's distinctive artwork that perfectly captures the band's experimental phase.
