Background information about 'Green'

Forbidden delivered something truly special with "Green", their fourth studio album that showcased the band's evolution beyond their thrash metal roots into more experimental territory. Released in 1997, this record found the San Francisco Bay Area legends exploring alternative metal sounds while maintaining their signature technical prowess and aggressive edge. The album features standout tracks like the title track "Green" and the groove-heavy "pHat", demonstrating the band's willingness to push boundaries and incorporate elements that were influencing metal in the mid-90s.

What makes "Green" particularly fascinating is how Forbidden managed to blend their thrash DNA with more accessible songwriting without losing their intensity. Tracks like "Turns To Rage" and "Kanaworms" showcase the band's ability to craft memorable hooks while still delivering the complex arrangements fans expected. The production captures both the heaviness and the more nuanced moments perfectly, creating an album that stands as a testament to the band's versatility during a period when many thrash acts were struggling to find their place in the changing metal landscape.
