Background information about 'The Fallen King'
Frozen Crown don't do things by halves. On "The Fallen King" the Italian outfit doubles down on everything that made them one of the most exciting names in the modern power metal revival: razor-sharp twin guitars, galloping rhythms and choruses big enough to fill an entire festival field. This is the sound of a band that grew up on the classics but refuses to simply repeat them.
What sets this record apart is its sheer velocity and melodic instinct. The riffs cut like glass, the solos trade off with genuine fire, and the vocal lines land with the kind of precision that makes you hit repeat before the song is even over. There's grit underneath the polish, too — a darker, more dramatic streak that keeps things from ever feeling too comfortable. Synth textures and folk-tinged flourishes weave through the arrangements, giving the whole thing a cinematic sweep.
It's a record built for headbanging and singalongs in equal measure, and it never loses momentum. If you like your metal fast, anthemic and unapologetically melodic, this one earns its place in your collection.
