Background information about 'The Legend Of The Six Kings'
Six albums in, Frozen Crown finally stop knocking on the door and simply kick it in. "The Legend Of The Six Kings" is the Italian sextet's most decisive statement yet — ten new tracks that trade a little of the band's earlier brightness for something colder, heavier and far more dramatic. Giada "Jade" Etro still has one of the most striking voices in the European power metal scene, but this time she leans into the shadows, letting the title's icy crown do the talking. The guitars bite harder, the rhythm section pushes with real weight, and the vocal arrangements are stacked high enough to fill a cathedral.
What makes the record work is restraint in the right places and excess in the others. The choruses arrive like anthems, sure, but they're earned by verses that actually build tension. There's a narrative thread running through the whole thing, and you can hear it in the pacing — the record breathes, it swells, it pulls back before the next hammer blow. This is the sound of a band that has grown up without losing the fire that got them here. Big, proud, unapologetically melodic heavy power metal, played by people who clearly believe every single note.
