Background information about 'War Hearts'

FROZEN CROWN have been climbing the power metal ladder for a few years now, and "War Hearts" is the record where they plant the flag at the top. It is the Italian crew's fifth full-length in only seven years, and their first for Napalm Records, but the real story is that this is the first time all six members appear on tape together. That extra pair of hands belongs to 18-year-old guitarist Alessia Lanzone, and her arrival gives the band's trademark attack a whole new dimension: sharper, deeper, more intricate, without ever losing the hooks that made them so addictive in the first place.

The title itself is a knowing nod to Children Of Bodom, and you can hear that spirit everywhere, in the razor riffs, the galloping rhythms and the sheer joy of a band playing at full throttle. Frontwoman Jade and guitarist Federico trade vocals on "I Am The Wind", a soaring anthem built to be screamed back at festivals, while the title track opens the whole thing with a message about chasing your dreams through the darkest nights. There is storytelling here too, from the Highlander-inspired "Edge Of Reality" to "Bloodlines", a love letter to the Vampire: The Masquerade games. Fast, melodic, hungry and endlessly replayable, this is power metal with its heart on fire.
