When Glacier released their self-titled mini-album back in 1985 on French label Axe Killer Records, it was largely ignored by the public. Only later did new generations of fans discover this completely underestimated gem of classic US metal. The Oregon-based band formed in 1979 as a cover band, but by the time they recorded "Ready For Battle" demo, they were ready to make their mark. The five songs on this 40th anniversary edition showcase three different vocalists - Michael Podyrbau, Keith Flax, and Rex McNew - each bringing their own flavor to the band's powerful traditional metal sound.

The recording process was a journey in itself, starting with "Live For The Whip" at one studio before moving to Northstar Recording Studio for the remaining tracks. Songs like "Devil In Disguise" and "Speak No Evil" demonstrate the band's ability to craft memorable hooks while maintaining the heavy edge that defined the era. After their initial dissolution, Glacier remained dormant until 2017 when they performed at Keep It True Festival under the name Devil In Disguise, followed by their 2020 studio album "The Passing Of Time". This remastered edition, handled by Patrick W. Engel at Temple Of Disharmony, brings new life to these classic tracks.
