GRÀB offers both continuity and change on their second album "Kremess". This Bavarian black metal project founded by vocalist Grànt continues to lyrically explore stories and traditions told in the dialect of the German alpine region. The title "Kremess" translates to "funeral feast" in High German, with death again playing a significant role in this album. Musically, the album features the traditional hammered dulcimer alongside other acoustic instruments and draws influences from early Nordic black metal bands like Gehenna, Ulver, and Darkthrone, as well as German pioneers like Nagelfar and Lunar Aurora. With the addition of English guitarist Gnàst, replacing previous songwriter Grain, new ideas and sounds are introduced to GRÀB's Bavarian-black soundscape. A number of guest musicians from bands such as Empyrium, Triptykon, and Dark Fortress further enrich the musical spectrum.

GRÀB translates to "old and grey" in Bavarian dialect rather than "grave," conceived by former Dark Fortress frontman Grànt to give black metal an unmistakably Bavarian twist. The initial collaboration between Grànt and guitarist Grain resulted in the release of the debut album "Zeitlang" in 2021, which revived the spirit of early black metal to the delight of critics and fans alike. With "Kremess," GRÀB infuses their Bavarian black metal with new musical vigor pointing towards a promising future.
