The British pioneers of progressive alternative metal, Haken, are back with the EP "In a Fever Dream" – their first new material since the critically acclaimed 2023 album "Fauna" – and it marks the start of an exciting new chapter for the band. Produced alongside George Lever (Loathe, Sleep Token), the EP delivers some of the most emotionally direct and powerful pieces Haken have ever written.

From the sprawling, atmospheric opener "In a Fever Dream" to the crushing weight of "Delirium" and the soaring beauty of "Eclipsed by You", this is a band operating at the absolute peak of their powers. The five tracks clock in at just over 26 minutes, but every second feels essential. "Bleeding Sky" balances heaviness with heartbreak, while the closing "Lotus" stretches out into nearly seven and a half minutes of pure, cathartic prog mastery. For added depth, the renowned musicians Adam "Nolly" Getgood (Periphery) and Bryan Beller (The Aristocrats, Joe Satriani) share bass duties across the EP, lending a rich, textured low end that anchors every riff and melody. The striking cover artwork by Vaxo Lang completes a release that feels as much a statement of intent as a collection of songs.
