Background information about 'Solastalgia'

With their fourth full-length "Solastalgia", German post-metal masters Heretoir deliver their most vulnerable and accessible record to date, diving deep into their innermost core with breathtaking emotional intensity. The album title itself carries profound weight - "Solastalgia describes the grief over the loss of the natural world," as the band explains, brutally exposing our alienation from this planet. While some tracks tackle environmental devastation, others explore deeply personal feelings and the crushing challenges of human existence in our rapidly changing world.

The joint songwriting efforts of David, Matthias and Nils have forged a new sound for Heretoir, moving away from the dark grimness of their previous effort "Nightsphere" toward something more emotionally diverse yet equally powerful. The songs traverse an impressive range from Modern Metal to Black Metal, Post Rock to even Screamo elements, creating what is essentially pure melancholy with sparks of hope piercing through utter darkness. This desperate beauty proves to be an unlikely source of comfort, showcasing Heretoir as masters of translating the pain of modern life into transcendent musical experiences.
