Ignea have never been ones to look straight ahead, and on Monumental they turn their gaze firmly backwards - not to recycle, but to excavate. The Ukrainian modern metal outfit dive deep into nostalgia, navigating unique facets of the past: from the grandeur and ambition of space-age dreams during the Cold War era to the melancholy of urban decay and forgotten modernist structures, all the way down to the emotional weight of personal and collective memory. It's a record that treats memory as architecture - something you can walk through, get lost in, and find yourself changed by.

All lyrics were penned by frontwoman Helle Bohdanova, whose commanding presence anchors these nine tracks in something deeply human. Grammy-nominated producer Jacob Hansen (DELAIN, Amaranthe, Volbeat, Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy) handled mixing and mastering, giving the album a towering, immaculate sound that lets every symphonic flourish and razor-sharp riff land with maximum impact. Recorded mostly in the winter of 2025/26 amid freezing temperatures and power outages in Kyiv, Monumental stands as the band's second full-length born during wartime in their homeland - a defiant, breathtaking statement that beauty and ambition survive even the darkest circumstances. This is melodic death metal with brains, heart, and a panoramic sense of scope.
