Background information about 'Reptile Brain Music'
Imperial State Electric delivers a masterclass in garage rock fury with "Reptile Brain Music", an album that strips away pretense and gets straight to the primal core of rock and roll. This Swedish powerhouse, featuring members of The Hellacopters, crafts twelve tracks of raw, unfiltered energy that feels like lightning in a bottle. From the opening salvo of "Emptiness Into The Void" to the closing anthem "Down In The Bunker", every moment crackles with the kind of authentic rock spirit that's become increasingly rare.
The album's title track "Reptile Brain" perfectly encapsulates the band's approach – instinctual, powerful, and utterly compelling. Songs like "Faustian Bargains" and "Dead Things" showcase their ability to blend melodic sensibilities with garage rock grit, while "Born Again" demonstrates their knack for crafting anthemic choruses that stick in your head for days. The production keeps things refreshingly honest, allowing the band's natural chemistry to shine through without unnecessary polish.
