Background information about 'Winds Of War'

Some records don't just get reissued, they get dragged back out of the grave and forced to breathe fire again. "Winds Of War" is exactly that kind of resurrection — Iron Angel at full gallop, all razor-wire riffing and leather-lunged fury, the sound of a Hamburg basement circa 1984 where the only rule was play faster or go home. This is prime German speed metal with a power metal heart, twin guitars trading blows like they've got something to prove, and a rhythm section that never once considers the brake pedal. Ten tracks, zero filler, and a chorus on nearly every one that you'll be shouting long after the needle lifts.

What makes it hit so hard is the sheer conviction. Nothing here is ironic, nothing is winking at the camera — this is metal played by people who genuinely believed it could change your life, and honestly, for forty minutes or so, it does. The title cut opens the gates and never lets up, "Metalstorm" and "Son Of A Bitch" come swinging with that glorious, unpolished nastiness of the early Teutonic scene, while "Stronger Than Steel" and "Sea Of Flames" show there's real songcraft underneath the armour. It's the kind of album that makes you want to dig out your old denim jacket and a patch or two.
