Background information about 'Sacraal'
Iskandr ventures deeper into uncharted sonic territories with "Sacraal", a mesmerizing seven-track odyssey that marks another bold evolution for Nijmegen's most enigmatic musical architect. This latest offering showcases a project that has gracefully shed its black metal chrysalis, emerging as something far more expansive and mystifying. The album breathes with medieval grandeur and apocalyptic folk structures, weaving together gothic funeral hymns with eerie industrial textures that feel both ancient and futuristic.
The soundscapes unfold like forgotten rituals, with organ-driven passages that transport listeners into cathedral-like spaces of profound introspection. Each composition stretches across vast emotional landscapes, creating moments of intensely quiet stillness that contrast beautifully with surges of triumphant vigor. "Sacraal" captures that ineffable feeling of gazing into star-filled night skies, evoking deep nostalgia while pointing toward infinite possibilities. This is psychedelic doom folk at its most transcendent.
