Background information about 'Runaljod - Yggdrasil (Re-Release)'
"Runaljod - Yggdrasil" is the second installment of Wardruna's Runaljod trilogy, an evocative journey through ancient Nordic spirituality and tradition. Released in 2013, this album captures the essence of Norse mythology through its haunting melodies and traditional instruments. Einar Selvik, the mastermind behind Wardruna, collaborates with Gaahl and Lindy Fay Hella to bring forth a sound that is both timeless and otherworldly.
The album was recorded in various outdoor locations across Norway and Iceland, lending an authentic atmosphere to its tracks. Each song delves into themes of nature, mysticism, and the cosmos, creating a rich tapestry that pays homage to ancestral roots. With tracks like "Rotlaust Tre Fell" and "Helvegen," listeners are invited on a sonic pilgrimage that transcends time.
