Background information about 'Not Alone'
Some bands play shows. John Coffey turn them into near-riots, and "Not Alone" is the sound of that sweat-soaked chaos finally captured on tape. The Dutch five-piece have spent years torching festival stages from Graspop to Wacken, sold out Amsterdam's Melkweg, and even launched their own punkrock gathering, Coffey Fest, just to keep the community close. That same communal fire burns through this record: ten tracks of lean, furious hardcore shot through with shout-along hooks, the kind of choruses that beg for a room full of strangers to scream them back at you.
What makes "Not Alone" land harder than your average pit-fueled workout is its heart. The album is built around connection, around the idea that somewhere out there is someone feeling exactly what you feel, whether you find them through a partner, a friendship, a helpline, or a packed club losing its collective mind. Talking helps. Singing helps. Screaming along at the top of your lungs helps. It is a record that never once looks away from the world around it, and the band wear their activist streak proudly, pairing political urgency with riffs that hit like a shoulder to the chest. Dirty rock 'n' roll and conviction, locked in a perfect symbiosis.
