Background information about 'Trümmermensch'

When two of Germany's most compelling atmospheric black metal acts join forces, magic happens. This split release showcases Karg and Schattenlicht at their most introspective and devastating, delivering a haunting journey through despair and melancholy that feels both deeply personal and universally resonant. Karg opens with three tracks of their signature depressive black metal, weaving together tremolo-picked melodies and anguished vocals that cut straight to the soul. The atmospheric passages breathe with a sorrowful beauty that's become their trademark.

Schattenlicht takes over the B-side with equally compelling material that explores similar emotional territories but with their own distinct approach to darkness. Their three contributions flow seamlessly from Karg's offerings, creating a cohesive listening experience that feels like one extended meditation on human suffering and resilience. The production maintains that raw, organic feel that allows both bands' emotional intensity to shine through without losing any of the atmospheric nuances that make this style so captivating.

For fans of: Burzum, Paysage d'Hiver, Darkthrone, and Lifelover
