Background information about 'How Do We Want To Live? (Re-Release)'
Long Distance Calling returns with their most introspective and philosophically charged work to date on "How Do We Want To Live?". This German post-rock powerhouse has crafted an album that doesn't just ask the titular question – it provides a sonic roadmap through the complexities of modern existence. The band's signature blend of atmospheric textures and crushing dynamics reaches new heights here, with tracks like "Curiosity" (split into two mesmerizing parts) and "Voices" showcasing their ability to build tension and release it in waves of pure emotional catharsis.
The album's nine tracks flow like chapters in a philosophical treatise, each one exploring different facets of human experience and societal challenges. "Hazard" delivers crushing riffs that feel like the weight of uncertainty, while "Immunity" offers moments of transcendent beauty amid the chaos. The closing track "Ashes" serves as both an ending and a beginning, leaving listeners with more questions than answers – exactly as intended. This is post-rock that thinks as much as it feels, music that demands attention and rewards deep listening.
